Gold vermeil jewelry contains a thick layer of real gold. It is a durable, long-lasting precious metal with the prettiest light gold tone. To create gold vermeil jewelry, multiple layers of solid gold are pressure-bonded to a core of high-quality jeweler’s brass using extreme heat. Gold vermeil metals are at least 15 times more expensive than plated gold materials. Unlike gold plated metals, gold vermeil metal price depends on the market value of gold at the time of purchase.

Will gold vermeil ever tarnish?

Gold vermeil can tarnish naturally over time, but it’s easily cleaned. If using a polishing cloth, it should be used LIGHTLY and not pressed hard against the metal to remove tarnish, as it could rub off the gold on your piece over time.
